Having been raised in a community with a strong coal mining tradition and been part of the last Grammar School intake Dale initially sought to pursue a career in Political Journalism.

Having completed a degree in Government at the then City of Birmingham Polytechnic it soon became apparent that there were no immediate vacancies for him at the foreign desks of any of Fleet Street broadsheets and a career re-think was quickly needed.

An impassioned plea to the Course Leader of the Common Professional Examination in Law conversion allowed Dale to embark upon a career in the field of law.

A move to London and employment as a Managing Clerk with a leading East London law firm allowed Dale to "hit the ground running" in the field of criminal defence being involved in the case preparation of matters across the criminal law spectrum from the most trivial through to Murders, Drug Importations, Organised Crime with both national and international dimensions.

Coupled with this Dale also developed his longtime interests in the field of Media and Entertainment progressing to undertake work involving major record companies and publishing companies along with a detailed understanding of event management through his separate activities as a concert promoter and Artist Manager.

He has also had involvement in the creation of filmed content including pilot/taster presentation of ideas for TV and online exploitation.

Having originally qualified as a Solicitor, Dale went on to run a small solicitors office before deciding a join a leading nationwide Criminal Defence law firm (DPP Law Ltd) with whom he now retains an association as a Consultant Barrister.

After upgrading his status to that of Solicitor Advocate in 2013 Dale has regularly been appearing in the Magistrates and Crown Courts in respect of proceedings including acting as trial advocate on numerous occasions.

A sample of cases in recent years include

  • R V H - Woolwich Crown Court - as trial advocate successfully defended a lorry driver accused with others in the transportation of a substantial amount of cannabis resin.

  • R V C - Snaresbrook - acted as trial junior to a leading QC in a murder trial where the principal witness against the Defendant was a family member.

  • R V A - Central Criminal Court - was the instructing solicitor to our now Head Of Chambers Mark Wyeth QC in respect of the widely publicised "Boy on a Bike" case and the Defendant's subsequent acquittal on a Count of Manslaughter.

  • R v W - Peterborough Crown Court - Acted at trial in Defence of a supporter of South London Football Club in a trial for offence of Affray.

  • R v W and others - Ipswich Crown Court - Successfully Defended a delivery driver in a Conspiracy to Steal a high value consignment of electrical/gaming goods.

Dale is currently instructed in a variety of matters including

  • The Defence of a Landlord facing charges under Trading Standards/Health and Safety Legislation.

  • The Defence of one of 2 defendants in a case of Racially Aggravated Assault.

  • Advising on contractual terms for participation in a prime time television show.

  • Advising a former major record label band in the formation of a record company and a music publishing company.

  • Dale has a wealth of experience in dealing with Road Traffic Offence allegations and can provide assistance in respect of assisting in written representations to the prosecuting authority and/or Courts in addition to representation at Court.

  • Dale also accepts instructions in respect of proceedings in other Tribunals including the County Court, the Family Court, the Employment Tribunal, The Immigration Tribunal, Courts Martial and Regulatory Bodies.
